They started the "GMA Academy" as well as many other conferences such as "Music in the Rockies" and "GMA Music Week". They also host the "GMA Music Awards" in Nashville every year. They provide many valuable services for aspiring musicians and it's definately a great place to get involved in if you're a Christian musician.

If you are a songwriter, this is one cool product. This program will find rhymes and rhymed-phrases for almost any word you can think of. It also has a built in thesaurus, dictionary, notebook, audio recorder, drum machine and a bunch of other tools that make the life of a serious songwriter much easier. MasterWriter also comes with Songuard which is just as good as copyrighting your songs right in the software! This is a great tool and is also Mac or PC compatible and well worth every penny.

I found a few interesting articles on "Making It" in the music business. They talk with the band Antigone Rising about things like self promotion, street teams, touring, independent albums and more. I haven't read through all of them yet, but the site www.HowStuffWorks.com is known for being a "family friendly" site.
